SÍ  MAGAZINE

January, 2020

In this particular project, I worked with five other girls in a team to create a publication about social issues. The particular aim behind this magazine idea was to inform and educate young people on the latest social issues and inspire them to want to make a change in the world. The topics covered consisted of Global Politics, Culture and Society, Gender and Environmental issues. My role was being editor-in-chief; managing the team; arranging interviews with team members and contributors, as well as working closely with digital illustrator Angelica Bacani by pitching ideas for thought-provoking illustrations that would appear on some of the pages. I contributed to the overall design and layout of the magazine and helped other members with brainstorming ideas for their own articles.

Throughout this project, I was able to interview several people for my work, including author, public speaker and ex-transgender Walt Heyer on his personal views on gender dysphoria and sex-change regret. I was also able to interview the administrator of a bullfighting aficionado group on Facebook on why they wished for such a barbaric tradition to prevail, and World Animal Protection on the bullfighting culture and their aims as an organisation. I also interviewed  YouTuber and minimalist Nate O'Brien on the minimalist lifestyle.

My article layouts are pages: 18-19, 34-35 and 42.
